On Friday November 8, Governor Lamont's "Ranked Choice Voting Working Group" met once again to discuss how and why RCV should be implemented in CT.  I've previously written about the cumbersome and confusing ballot design this would have in Greenwich.

"Ranked-choice voting has been used with success in other states throughout the U.S. for many years, and there is a growing consensus in Connecticut that enacting this system here will benefit our voters." - Governor Ned Lamont

The reality is the exact opposite.  Across the country voters rejected Ranked Choice Voting.  Alaska had tried RCV and now has voted to repeal it.  In Colorado, a multi-millionaire spent $6 million dollars promoting RCV, and it was voted down.  Idaho voted it down.  Missouri voted to ban the concept in law.  Montana voted it down.  Oregon voted it down!

Governor Lamont pledged his support for RCV in order to win the support of a minor party.  Read about it here.

Unfortunately, that pledge from 2 years ago, is complicated by reality.  Actual voters are rejecting RCV around the nation.
